Synopsis

The medical device industry has been one of the driving forces for the development of additive manufacturing. Today devices produced by additive manufacturing includes orthopaedic and cranial implants, surgical instruments, dental restorations such as crowns, and external prosthetics. The technology does not only enable innovative and new solutions but also a more refined patient-specific care. At OssDsign we have combined the advantages of additive manufacturing of Titanium with our proprietary bioceramic resulting in an innovative patient-specific design.

The end result is an implant solution that provides cranioplasty patients with the protection, aesthetics and long-term reliability they deserve. In combination with uniquely designed surgical tools produced by additive manufacturing and pre-planning support to surgeons the limits for complex cranioplasty surgeries have been pushed

Biography

Ghanim Ibrahim is Clinical Design Engineer at OssDsign and is one of the head designers of OssDsign’s patients-specific implants, surgical tools as wells as the unique design and pre-planning service OssDsign offers for complex surgeries. He holds a Master of Science in Chemical Engineering from Uppsala University and have been working at OssDsign since he graduated from the university in 2014.
